Overview

What is the Opportunity? As a Senior Manager of Strategic Business Performance, reporting to the Director of Strategic Business Performance, this role plays a key part in accelerating RBC Insurance's ongoing business transformation. This position offers the opportunity to partner with various teams across RBCI to provide visibility into the business' strategic performance, and to conduct fact-based analysis to accelerate, optimize, and unlock growth, all while collaborating with stakeholders to drive business success.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the RBCI Quarterly Business Review process, distilling and assessing disparate sources of information into a senior executive report that effectively describes business performance across all dimensions including financial, sales, operations, risk and strategy
  • Support business case development for new business ideas, by partnering with RBCI and Strategy colleagues to assess the financial impact of business growth opportunities, including sensitivity analyses
  • Support the buildout of an integrated, strategic view of projected business performance under various strategic options, to provide a data-driven projection of the ‘art of the possible’
  • Partner with Finance, where needed, to enable Finance programs that will support strategic business decision-making, e.g. product profitability, cost drivers and levers
  • Establish routines and views to enable on-going measurement of business performance vs. strategic priorities
  • Establish a strong relationship of mutual trust, collaboration and credibility across the organization
Qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in a strategy or performance management role, with a proven track record of developing senior executive-level materials to assess business performance
  • Deep understanding of RBC's Finance practices, processes, and requirements
  • Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams, building alignment and driving results
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and navigate multiple lines of business with ease
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 and insurance products
  • A finance designation or an advanced degree in a related field
