About the Role

The Senior Manager, Franchise Performance (Sr. MFP) is a key leadership role responsible for guiding a team of Franchise Performance Managers (MFPs) and overseeing the operations and growth of multiple franchise locations within a defined territory. Reporting to the DFP, this role drives operational excellence, ensures adherence to brand standards, and supports franchisees in achieving business and financial objectives.

The Sr. MFP acts as a strategic partner to both franchisees and MFPs, providing advanced guidance, resolving escalations, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a specialized discipline to elevate best practices across the network. In collaboration with the DFP, the Sr. MFP identifies growth opportunities, manages complex issues, and fosters strong relationships to deliver sustainable results.

Responsibilities

Drive Performance

  • Manage a mid-size portfolio of restaurants, conducting regular visits to assess and improve operations.
  • Lead MFPs in executing initiatives, driving KPIs, and ensuring accountability for results across the team and personal portfolio.
  • Resolve escalations and lead difficult conversations with clarity and professionalism.
  • Provide operational and food safety guidance during visits, documenting compliance and recommending improvements.

Build Relationships

  • Serve as a trusted leader to MFPs and business consultant to franchisees, influencing operational, financial, and strategic decisions.
  • Lead selected discussion topics on monthly franchisee calls and contribute insights on market-wide priorities.
  • Establish credibility with franchisees and act as a respected leader among MFP peers.
  • Coach and mentor franchisees and MFPs to enhance engagement, guest experience, and operational performance.

Market & Team Development

  • Support the DFP in market development activities, including ownership transfers, remodels, and new store openings.
  • Support onboarding and mentoring of new MFPs, ensuring a smooth transition and strong performance.
  • Share expertise as an SME to strengthen team capabilities and drive consistency across the network.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of new products, technologies, and programs.

Continuous Learning

  • Participate in advanced training and leadership programs to expand knowledge and coaching skills.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and best practices through company and industry events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree strongly preferred, or equivalent experience with 7+ years in multi-unit management, including leadership of direct reports.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ franchise management experience with a proven track record of driving growth and profitability.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with franchise regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn technology initiatives and cascade this knowledge to others. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong Excel & Smart Sheets) and experience working with CRM software (FranConnect).
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in different forms and with different audiences. Strong communication skills, detail oriented. Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work within a team, hands‑on approach during restaurant visits. Strong relationship-building and networking skills with a self‑motivated attitude to work.
  • Language requirements: Fluent in English – any additional language a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel within the region and flexibility with schedule to accommodate operational needs which includes evenings and weekends. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Field‑based role (80–90%), with 10–20% home‑based work.
