Overview

At KPMG, you’ll join a team of diverse and dedicated problem solvers, connected by a common cause turning insight into opportunity for clients and communities around the world. Our Family Office service team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Senior Manager to deliver high‑touch service to multi‑family office clients. The successful candidate will act as a financial quarterback for our clients and their families; responsible for managing the daily accounting/financial activities for multiple client entities, strategic reporting, and financial modelling.

Responsibilities
  • Act as a controller to clients and maintain a consolidated view of their overall financial/investment picture and provide strategic advice on cash flow management, financial performance and forecasting
  • Coordinate accounting, bookkeeping, investment reporting activities and oversee the finance/accounting/bookkeeping team’s activities
  • Act as the key liaison for the client and hold regular status update meetings in conjunction with the Lead Family Office Relationship Manager, Lead Partner and Family Office Leader
  • Conduct financial reconciliation, accuracy checks and maintain a strong understanding of complex financial structures involving investment companies, brokerage and bank accounts, credit and lending structures, trusts, partnerships, and estate planning
  • Prepare customized reporting including financial modelling and KPI reports using Family Office technology and other tools
  • Maintain client document management system and related technology platform
  • Coordinate financial activities with external/internal advisors (bankers, accountants, lawyers) such as investment activities, capital calls, and conduct a comprehensive analysis of the client’s pro forma information
  • Offer advice on optimizing cash flow and overall structure in partnership with the Wealth Strategy leader
  • Maintain an understanding of the investments and a general understanding of the fiscal, legal and accounting implications
  • Act as the project manager for multi‑family office or single‑family office engagements and coordinate various client related moving parts and ensure on‑time responses and delivery
  • Support the Lead Relationship Manager and Family Office Leader with the proposal process
  • Help maintain client prospect lists, pipeline reports and other business development/leadership update reports
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting; CPA – CGA is an asset
  • 7+ years client‑facing/relationship management with a focus on financial analysis, accounting and bookkeeping or wealth strategy
  • Prior audit, tax, financial controller experience is an asset
  • Prior experience working with a Family Office or professional services organization in a similar role is an asset
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into meaningful insights for the client
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with senior‑level business partners
  • Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision‑making skills
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools such as SQL, Access, etc.
  • Strong demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong interpersonal/facilitation and client relationship management skills
  • Eagerness to learn and help grow the practice
  • Strong familiarity with KPMG service lines and strong network within professional services is an asset
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across functions/groups
  • Effective, versatile and action‑oriented

Salary

The expected base salary range for this position is $102,500- $200,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, KPMG offers a comprehensive and competitive Total Rewards program.
