Job summary

A mining company is seeking a Lead Hand for Mine Maintenance at their Detour Lake Mine in Northeastern Ontario. The ideal candidate will have a Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic certification and extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance. Responsibilities include leading a team, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring safety and compliance in the workplace. This position operates on a 14/14 schedule, providing accommodations and meals on site. Fluency in CAT SIS and SAP/JDE systems is essential.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience in heavy equipment maintenance.
• 2–5 years’ experience in a supervisory and/or lead hand role.
• Strong background in support equipment including Dozers, Loaders, CAT 777 Haul Trucks, Graders.

Responsibilities

• Leading team members in achieving maintenance safety and productivity targets.
• Assigning and monitoring work to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Ensuring accurate documentation and work order management in SAP/JDE.
