Overview

Wood is recruiting a Senior / Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer to join its Canadian operations, focusing on projects in the Bioproducts sector. This opportunity is remote.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership in FEED / detailed engineering, including the preparation and / or review of technical deliverables, specifications, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality systems
  • Coordinate and lead work with distributed teams and work-share offices
  • Monitor team performance and forecast resource needs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Ensure compliance with provincial and federal codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Support procurement, vendor selection, and technical bid evaluations
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies throughout the project lifecycle
  • Stay current with industry standards and tools, and implement improvements
  • Promote a safety culture
  • In the course of their duties, this person will be required to interact with French & English-speaking stakeholders across Canada
Responsabilités (Français)
  • Fournir une expertise technique et un leadership dans le domaine de l'ingénierie de base (FEED) et l’ingénierie de détail, y compris la préparation et / ou la révision des livrables techniques, des spécifications, etc.
  • Assurer la conformité aux procédures et systèmes qualité.
  • Coordonner et piloter les équipes d’ingénierie réparties sur différents sites.
  • Suivre la performance des équipes et anticiper les besoins en ressources.
  • Collaborer avec des équipes pluridisciplinaires.
  • Veiller au respect des codes et normes de sécurité provinciaux et fédéraux.
  • Soutenir les achats, la sélection des fournisseurs et les évaluations techniques des offres
  • Être l’interlocuteur(trice) privilégié(e) des clients, fournisseurs et autorités réglementaires tout au long du projet.
  • Suivre l’évolution des normes et outils du secteur et mettre en œuvre des améliorations
  • Promouvoir une culture de sécurité.
  • Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, cette personne sera amenée à interagir avec des parties prenantes francophones et anglophones à travers le Canada

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
  • Bilingual in French and English
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ); registration in other Canadian provinces is considered an asset.
  • At least 10-15 years of relevant technical experience in analysis, design, specification and procurement of Pulp & Paper and industrial process plant equipment and piping
  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and mechanical and piping codes and standards
  • Experience in process plant engineering, including :
  • Design and drafting software (2D & 3D)
  • Piping stress analysis
  • Static equipment (e.g. tank and vessel) design
  • Experience with tender documents and engineering deliverables
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Exigences
  • Diplôme d’ingénieur en génie mécanique.
  • Bilingue français / anglais.
  • Membre de l’Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) ou éligible à l’inscription. Une reconnaissance dans d’autres provinces canadiennes constitue un atout
  • Au moins 10 à 15 ans d’expérience technique pertinente dans l’analyse, la conception, la spécification et l\'approvisionnement d’équipements et de tuyauteries pour les usines de pâte à papier et les usines de traitement industriel.
  • Solide connaissance des pratiques de l’industrie et des codes et normes en matière de mécanique et tuyauterie.
  • Expérience en ingénierie d’usines de procédés, incluant :
  • Logiciels de conception et de dessin (2D et 3D)
  • Analyse de contraintes de tuyauterie
  • Conception d’équipements statiques (réservoirs, cuves)
  • Expérience avec les documents d’appel d’offres et livrables d’ingénierie.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication et en leadership.
  • Engagement envers la satisfaction client et la réussite de l’équipe.
