Job description

General Contractor is seeking an intermediate – Senior Land Surveyor to join their surveying teams in Vancouver. Salary range is $120,000 – $170,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.

Responsibilities of Senior Land Surveyor:
  • Senior surveying project manager for a large variety of complex cadastral and engineering projects, from mixed-use air space subdivision to large infrastructure projects
  • Land Surveyor focuses on work in the field and office – from budgeting, client development, client liaising, project research, calculations, staff supervision, final plan preparation and reporting
  • Survey party chief for a large variety of surveying projects, including mixed-use air space subdivision, engineering, construction, and infrastructure projects
  • The position includes both field and office work – from client liaising, project research, calculations, to the review of final plans and reports
  • Ability to deal directly with clients
Requirements of Senior Land Surveyor:
  • Ability to obtain BCLS and CLS Commission
  • Land Surveyor will have project management experience, used to working on complex projects, often with tight time constraints
  • UAV Licence would be an asset
  • Past experience collecting and processing 3D laser scanning data
  • Effective communications skills, both verbal and written English
  • Familiarity with computer applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS data processing and least-squares analysis
  • Occasional travel required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of surveying experience

  • Proficiency in computer applications including AutoCAD Civil 3D, GPS data processing, and least-squares analysis
  • Extensive experience with conventional surveying and GPS equipment
  • Experience running a survey field crew, with the ability to communicate directly with the clients and perform field calculations
  • 3D laser scanning experience will be an considered an asset
