What will you be doing
  • Developing a detailed understanding of the client's business processes and requirements to strengthen information management practices.
  • Identifying gaps and improvement opportunities, designing effective solutions, and securing approval for updates to the document and the records repository’s information architecture and metadata.
  • Implementing configuration changes to the Information Architecture and records management systems to support evolving business needs.
  • Delivering engaging training and education programs to ensure users understand IM processes, tools, and compliance expectations.
  • Overseeing and updating the repository’s information architecture and metadata as organizational requirements evolve.
  • Providing hands-on functional and technical support for the corporate document and records repository, resolving user access, workflow, and system issues.
  • Managing user access by setting up and adjusting permissions and release codes in the Electronic Document and Records Management System (EDRMS).
  • Monitoring trends, identifying challenges, analyzing issues, and applying established or adapted procedures to resolve problems effectively.
  • Developing internal IM documentation and contributing to company-wide materials supporting compliance with IM requirements.
  • Estimating, planning, and leading small information management projects from initiation to completion.
  • Building and maintaining a strong understanding of external legislative and regulatory requirements (e.g., Treasury Board policies, the Library and Archives Canada Act, CNSC policies, IM principles, IAEA and CSA standards).
  • Preparing clear, concise reports, briefing notes, and summaries related to information management breaches or inappropriate disclosures.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for
  • Education & Experience
    • Certification Information/ Records Management/ business analysis/ process management, or demonstrated equivalent acquired through working experience.
    • Document Control Certification is an asset.
    • Minimum of 5 years of cumulative practical experience in Records and Information Management.
    • Minimum of 2 years working knowledge of Open Text Content Suite or comparable EDRMS technology.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Demonstrated skills in process mapping, developing taxonomies and analysis of Information Management processes.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), with a minimum requirement of 3–5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's Security standards.
Working Conditions
  • Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
  • This position is part of the USW 4096 404 union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in the Collective Agreement.
  • Work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • May be required to move and lift boxes of hardcopy records (up to 40lbs).
  • Mental and visual concentration is required for analysis of client requirements, troubleshooting, solving technical problems, report writing and proofreading of materials, updating user access accounts, managing user profiles, researching information, developing/maintaining information management policies.

Location: Fully Remote

This position is offered on a fully remote basis, allowing you to work from home anywhere in Canada. You’ll collaborate virtually with a dynamic team across CNL sites, helping to advance Canada’s clean energy and environmental goals from your home office.

Please note: This is a remote position supporting the Chalk River Laboratory, Ontario.
