Senior Hydronic Heating Engineer
All-round engineering, affinity with heating systems

Office: Abbotsford (BC), approximately 1 hour drive from Vancouver.

Prins Greenhouses is a leader in designing and building cutting-edge greenhouses, screen systems, and climate control technologies. They deliver complete, turnkey solutions for clients in vegetable cultivation, cut flowers, and potted plants — from concept to greenhouse.
With offices in Abbotsford (British Columbia) and Vineland Station (Ontario), Prins Greenhouses builds greenhouses across Canada. Founded 45 years ago, Prins Greenhouses maintains strong relationships with its Dutch suppliers.

Your activities and responsibilities

  • Design hydronic heating and related systems for commercial greenhouses;
  • Communicate directly with customers to understand system requirements and generate final system design and documentation;
  • Create and submit detailed bids outlining costs and timelines for projects;
  • Provide technical support to the sales team or be directly involved in sales for greenhouse heating systems;
  • Supervise the creation of drawings (Revit 3D and AutoCAD 2D) for greenhouse projects and related systems, as per specifications, and prepare material lists;
  • Obtain and compare quotes from suppliers, order materials, and coordinate with the Logistics Coordinator to ensure timely delivery;
  • Communicate with engineering staff, construction supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers;
  • Hire contractors and monitor their progress and quality of work.

Your profile

  • Mechanical Engineering degree or other Engineering degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Experience in hydronic heating system design;
  • Basic knowledge of control systems;
  • Ability to work independently and in a team;
  • Creative thinker and problem solver;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a pleasant telephone manner.
