You as a Senior Health, Safety & Environment Coordinator will:
  • Be responsible for safety orientation, job site inspections, onsite first aid assessment/treatment and accident/injury reports.
  • Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and elevate issues to resolution.
  • Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them.
  • Review of Subcontractors' Pre-Construction safety submittals.
  • Review and file Subcontractors' weekly safety submittals.
  • Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid.
  • Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual project health and safety statistics.
  • Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture.
  • This opportunity is for a project located in rural New Brunswick. The successful candidate will have the ability to either travel to site daily, or stay in accommodations near the project site during the work week. Additional financial incentives are available for expenses related to travel and accommodations.
Is this the right role for you?
  • You have a minimum of 2 years' of safety experience in heavy civil and/or industrial construction projects, preferably in remote locations.
  • proven experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge in emergency preparedness in remote areas and large-scale projects.
  • extensive experience with rigging/hoisting of large-scale equipment.
  • You hold a valid first aid certificate.
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) certificate is an asset.
  • Construction Safety Coordinator Gold Seal Certification or CRSP Designation would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in the Certificate of Recognition (COR) program would be considered an asset.
  • You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations.
  • You have CISD Secret clearance or are eligible to obtain it.
