GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly analytical and commercially focused Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team, serving as a Business Support Partner in the Sales Department. This role will support both Sales and Marketing functions by delivering actionable insights, financial analysis, and strategic planning to drive profitable growth and provide best-in-class analytics and controls to augment customer and product profitability.

BUSINESS PARTNER:
  • Be a supporting financial business partner to the sales team, acting on pricing strategies and determination of account profitability for existing and new business opportunities.
  • Function as supporting financial business partner to Sales and Marketing teams within scope and tracking of customer and product profitability, sales and customer spend (rebates, deductions/fines, promotional support) analysis, marketing program (ad & promo) spend analysis.
  • Partners with Sales and Marketing to forecast demand, assess pricing and promotions, manage customer P&L, and drive process improvements.
  • Communicate, educate, and inform other team members and departments on cost drivers and variances impacting sales profitability.
  • Provide financial modeling and scenario analysis for new product launches, channel expansion, or pricing changes.
  • Collaborate with SKU Setup in completing Finished Good pricing to support the Customer Care, Billing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Marketing functions.
  • Evaluate and synchronize price variances with the Billing department.
  • Identify process improvements and support automation or system enhancements to improve efficiency.

ANALYTICS:
  • Support the Sales and Marketing departments by conducting analyses of sales opportunities and new product launches.
  • Analyze pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors and report data to decision-makers.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and KPI tracking for trade spend, marketing ROI, and customer profitability.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on customer, SKU, Brand, and product history.

REPORTING:
  • Monitor profitability of existing and quoted business and provide reporting thereupon.
  • Month-end customer rebate accruals and processing of rebate claims
  • Provide financial visibility, including profitability, revenue, and pricing for new and existing opportunities.
  • Complete accurate and timely month/year end sales management reports (Top 20, Customer P&Ls, variance analysis, and commentary)
  • Develop dynamic pricing tools to effectively respond to changing market needs and trends.
  • Prepare and present pricing analysis findings to management, marketing team and sales personnel.

FORECAST & BUDGET:
  • Development of financial plans including partnering with Sales team to budget and forecast for the short and long term.
  • Compare sales trends to previous periods and budget and determine the root cause of decreases/increases.

MASTER DATA
  • Maintain Master Data controls within Microsoft Business Central enterprise resource planning tool for Sales and Finance.
  • Coordinate with Transportation and Logistics in maintenance of freight tables and confirmation of rates and costs associated with delivered finished goods pricing as they pertain to sales profitability.

DEVELOPMENT
  • Remain current on market conditions and market pricing in competing product categories and develop recommendations for changes in the business or product category pricing strategy.
  • Keep informed on pricing analysis methods and industry trends.
  • Assist with special projects as requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Advanced Excel skills and Jet reporting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency.
  • Must be able to plan, organize, and prioritize objectives and duties.
  • Ability to understand issues and the impact on financial results.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work on a cross-functional team.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly adapt; maintain focus and a high degree of accuracy while working with complex data in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities, and requirements.
  • Must have a high level of communication skills, collaboration skills as well as the ability to perform independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Senior Financial Analyst with 5+ years of experience preferred.
  • Financial Analysts with 3-5 years of relevant experience minimum are encouraged to apply.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce.
  • CPA designation or working towards achieving.
  • Finance experience required, with experience in pricing, reporting and variance analysis preferred.
