Reporting to the Director of Finance, Infrastructure, the Senior Finance Manager (Term Position) will be responsible for generating financial statements, overseeing the preparation of district budgets, and implementing financial controls and procedures.

This is a hybrid position and is based in the Montréal office.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Generate accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and summaries for district leadership and stakeholders.

  • Oversee the preparation and administration of district budgets, ensuring alignment with financial goals and compliance with regulations.

  • Monitor and control expenses to maintain budgetary constraints and optimize resource allocation.

  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and addressing audit findings.

  • Implement and enforce financial controls and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Provide financial advice and guidance to district managers and department heads on financial matters and investment opportunities.

  • Develop strategic plans to drive financial growth and operational efficiency.

  • Manage cash flow by monitoring income and expenditures, optimizing working capital, and ensuring sufficient liquidity.

  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate transactions.

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.

  • Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide training to enhance team skills and effectiveness.

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to monitor performance and provide actionable insights.

What We Are Looking For

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration/Commerce with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. Accounting designation is preferred.

  • 8-10+ years of experience in an accounting or finance function

  • Advanced technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including but not limited to Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint, as well as Outlook)

  • Workday knowledge an asset

  • Demonstrates credibility and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information while providing exceptional customer service

  • Ability to adapt and change to business requirements, by providing solutions to problems, well-articulated explanations; listens to the challenges and opportunities conveyed by clients and demonstrates a willingness to appreciate different perspectives

  • Approaches work in a collaborative manner, considering dependencies of components being worked on by other members

  • Ability to apply structured thinking, simplifying complex problems to a creative resolution

  • Mathematical aptitude and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to forge, grow and maintain positive relationships with multiple groups

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritization of work to achieve them
