Position Overview

Lambert Nemec Group is partnering with a respected manufacturing organization in its search for a Senior Cost Accountant. This is an nice opportunity for an experienced finance professional to drive financial operations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the company's strategic decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed costing details to assess order profitability
  • Oversee inventory control, including maintaining Bills of Materials and conducting cycle counts
  • Perform essential bookkeeping duties such as reconciliations, adjusting journal entries, and accruals
  • Manage customer credit, including recording receipts and following up on past due balances.
  • Prepare and submit regular financial reports and compliance documents, including sales tax returns
  • Collaborate with the operations team to provide financial insights and cost guidance
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed to support overall finance operations
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years focused on costing in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance (CPA designation is an asset but not required)
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and aptitude for independent research
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on tasks such as cycle counts and time studies
