We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Corporate Accountant to be a recognized subject matter expert within our dynamic Finance team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this strategic role provides sound accounting and financial guidance, delivers high-quality services, and offers crucial analytical support to business partners across the organization. You will execute complex accounting functions independently, contribute to strategy, and demonstrate a proven ability to influence teams and projects.
Strategic Operations Support & Business Partnership:Act as a trusted financial partnerto operations leaders, ensuring business objectives are met through expertise in inventory accounting, costing, and control. Monitor expenses, analyze complex transactions, and provide analytical support to identify key trends and recommend holistic solutions.
High-Quality Financial Reporting and Control:Lead the preparation and review of critical reports, focusing on the timely delivery of accruals, reconciliations, and analysis. Perform monthly reconciliations of significant balance sheet accounts and lead the overall reconciliation of data across operating and accounting systems to ensure accuracy and transparency.
Month-End Close and Audit Leadership:Serve as a key contributor to the month-end closing process, ensuring accurate general ledger activity. Play a crucial role in internal and external audits by efficiently providing supporting documentation and explanations, ensuring robust financial compliance.
Continuous Process Improvement and Optimization:Actively champion and implement streamlining work processes and procedural improvements for maximum efficiency and accuracy. Assist the Finance team in the optimization of systems and processes, including assessing internal controls and performing risk reviews.
Project Leadership and Strategic Contribution: Independently lead strategic projects to support the accounting department's objectives. This includes specialized accounting tasks, participating in creating and maintaining financial policies and procedures, and managing project teams to achieve critical milestones.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Professional designation (CPA).
A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
Familiarity with ERP accounting software (e.g., SAP) and IFRS, an asset.
Be available to come to the office twice a week (Tuesday and Wednesday).
