Job summary

A leading home care service provider in Halton Region is seeking a Homemaker Companion to offer companionship services and assist clients with daily activities. Responsibilities include meal planning and preparation, shopping errands, and light housekeeping to help clients remain in their homes. A high school diploma and some experience is preferred. Training will be provided.

• Must be able to read, write, and understand English as needed for the job.
• Possess a valid driver's license and have access to adequate transportation.

Essential Functions

• Companion/Sitter
  • Provide companionship
  • Meal planning, preparation
  • Assist with shopping, driving, running errands
  • Perform light housekeeping activities
• Medication Services
  • Assist with medications that the client self-administers

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent certificate
• Experience as a Homemaker/Companion (in homes or facilities) is an asset
• Meet passing criteria on DEARS (Drugs and Ethics) test
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English as needed for the job
• Possess a valid driver\'s license and have use of an insured automobile or access to adequate transportation for the job
• Initial training will be provided
