A prominent software company in Toronto is seeking a Senior Communications Manager to lead external media strategies that enhance its presence. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years in communications, experience in tech PR, and a proven ability to develop strategic narratives that differentiate the company from competitors. This role includes working closely with cross-functional teams and advising senior executives, offering a range of generous benefits and a collaborative workspace.
The Mozilla Corporation is wholly owned by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation. We aren’t beholden to any shareholders — only to our mission. Mozilla designs, builds and distributes open-source software that enables people to enjoy the internet on their terms. We’re seeking a Senior Communications Manager who thinks strategically and creatively to drive awareness, reach, and advocacy, with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and deliver communications that set Mozilla apart with limited oversight.
As Senior Manager, Communications, you’ll lead external media strategies that support Mozilla’s mission and amplify its presence across sectors. You’ll work cross-functionally with Product, Brand, Legal, Policy, and Social / Content teams to craft compelling, newsworthy narratives for tech-savvy and general audiences.
Your storytelling should clearly differentiate Mozilla from competitors by highlighting our open-source roots, people-first approach, and distinct values. You’ll lead media engagement and key reporter relationships while exploring creative ways to spark conversation beyond press coverage, shaping storytelling for Mozilla’s work in culture and technology.
You’ll serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives when needed, preparing them for public engagements and playing a key role in product launches, thought leadership, and company positioning. You’ll lead cross-functional projects with minimal direction, turning strategy into execution, and you’ll establish success metrics, coordinate budgets, and ensure long-term impact across communications programs.
Mozilla exists to build the Internet as a public resource accessible to all because we believe that open and free is better than closed and controlled. When you work at Mozilla, you help make a difference in Web users’ lives and in your own.
