RBC’s Cloud Security Operations team is responsible for developing and investigating security alerts that might pose a risk to the organization. We are a team of experienced and enthusiastic cloud security analysts and engineers that are passionate about developing monitoring solutions and investigating cloud security incidents. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology at RBC and gaining experience building and operating fully managed technology services in several Cloud environments.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a team managing security monitoring in our public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, OCP)
  • Manage, maintain and administer security monitoring and alerting systems and processes, ensuring ongoing visibility into the security of our environments.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute on system and application maintenance plans for monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Provide coordination of security events and incident response investigations and to elevate incidents as appropriate.
  • Build automated response capabilities to support the detection, investigation and remediation processes.
  • Refine and automate security operations processes to improve incident investigation and triage efficiency.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reporting to further enhance monitoring of processes and investigations.
  • Provide guidance to the triage team members during incidents.
  • Work flexible hours when necessary and be part of a 24/7 on‑call rotation.
Requirements

Must have:

  • 2 to 5 years of industry experience.
  • Intermediate experience with Python.
  • Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM.
  • Experience with building detections in SIEM.
  • Experience with automation in SOAR.
  • Intermediate experience with building, provisioning and automating infrastructure resources in cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex security incidents, events and advanced attack techniques.
  • Ability to work in a complex, fast paced and rapidly changing business environment.
  • Detail‑oriented, operationally savvy, and action‑oriented individual who continually strives for improvement.
  • Understand RBC vision, as well as support and reinforce targeted behaviors that contribute to RBC goals.

Nice‑to‑have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related disciplines or relevant experience.
  • Certifications in information security (GCIH, GCSA, GPCS, GCTD, GCFR)
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or OCP)
  • Experience in working within a large, global financial services company.
  • A good understanding of modern, cloud‑centric architectures and DevOps principles.
