Overview

As a Senior Cloud Developer at Interaxon, you’ll help us build APIs used by cross-platform mobile apps, revenue-generating web apps, and big data infrastructure that enables our neuroscientists to comb through our enormous brain data set. You are someone with a keen eye for detail, who thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has extensive experience architecting and building scalable distributed backend systems.

What you’ll be doing

• Architect and build scalable distributed backend systems.
• Look out for and evaluate promising technologies / services most suitable for the task.
• Test your code, ensuring high coverage and shipping features that you are proud of.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to ensure the specifications make sense.
• Review code from others in a collaborative way. No stone goes unturned.
• Participate in Sprint rituals, especially story point estimation.
• Share your opinion and experience in technical design sessions.
• Bring your ideas to continuously improve our processes and practices.
• Coach junior developers, raising the bar for everyone on the team.
• Develop your craft as you learn something new and grow while on our team.

Your skills and experience

• 5+ years of experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud, building large distributed systems.
• 5+ years of experience with Python, Node, Go, PHP, or Ruby, working in a team environment.
• Built applications using both SQL and NoSQL databases, has a solid understanding of different design principles and trade-offs.
• DevOps mindset, experience with operating code in production.
• Expert in Git.
• Experience with CI / CD tools.
• Computer Science degree or similar degree.
