Responsible for ensuring the requirements map to a real business need that are approved by all relevant stakeholders and meet essential quality standards to meet business requirements.

YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME

Reporting to the Director Digital Solution Development, you will be empowered to:

  • Partner with Product Owners and business stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and document business needs, objectives, and priorities.

  • Translate business requirements into clear, concise user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and supporting documentation.

  • Analyze and validate the feasibility, impact, and value of proposed solutions.

  • Ensure alignment between technology solutions and business goals.

  • Serve as a facilitator of communication between business and technical team members.

  • Collaborate daily with developers, UX/UI designers, QA testers, and other Scrum team members to ensure shared understanding of requirements.

  • Participate in all Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Assist the Product Owner in grooming and prioritizing the product backlog based on business value and technical constraints

  • Work closely with technical partners to design solutions that meet business needs while maintaining system integrity and scalability.

  • Perform systems analysis, including data mapping, workflow analysis, and integration impact assessment.

  • Support development and QA teams by clarifying requirements, reviewing test cases, and validating solution functionality.

  • Supports business case creation and project effort estimation for new initiatives to ensure a consistent approach is being applied.

  • Develops a thorough understanding of business goals, outcomes, practices and processes to translate them into system functionality and user-requirements that define project scope and specifications

  • Authors key technical documentation including NFRs, Solution Documents, Release Notes, and System Stories

  • Has a strong understanding of the system architecture and is able to bring those insights forward to provide useful context in team discussions

  • Performs business analysis techniques including, but not limited to:

    • Business and product requirements management (e.g. requirements traceability, baselining)

    • Enterprise analysis (e.g. workshops, surveys, benchmark studies, feasibility analysis, SWOT)

    • Requirements elicitation (e.g. process decomposition, stakeholder analysis, prototyping, story writing and story mapping)

    • Requirements analysis (e.g. process modelling, use cases, business rules, complexity, business value assessments)

    • Validation of solution fit for business (e.g. user acceptance testing, defect & issue reporting)

  • Translates high-level, conceptual business strategies and objectives into user-requirements to guide development activities to provide Solution Delivery team with solution requirements

  • Leads development of documentation for new and modified business policies and procedures (e.g. standard operating procedures (SOPs) and workflows) to ensure effective implementation of technology solutions in order to provide consistent quality of outputs

  • Promotes architectural consistency and usability standards in the solution designs as well as incorporating business goals to streamlined user experience, understanding the customer journey and translating into user stories in order to ensure consistency

  • Identifies and evaluates risks (e.g. prioritization, dependencies, constraints etc.), including providing report requirements activity status in order to ensure transparency

  • Collaborates and consults with the Solution Delivery team on the solution management and design to meet the business objectives and timelines

  • Communicates the business requirements, leading the review and signoff sessions with stakeholders and solutions delivery team in order to ensure alignment

  • Supports the business in solution implementation, including:

    • identify possible use cases for user acceptance testing, systems testing and identifying gaps

    • providing recommendations for problem resolution and clarifying range of functions and

    • providing input or validation of the end business user training materials and knowledge transfer documentation to ensure successful transition to business as usual

  • Maintains domain and industry expertise and proactively identifies opportunities for streamlining business requirements, processes and workflows through continuous improvement in order to better serve the business

  • Develops partnerships with business leaders, supporting development of strategies and acting as a change agent for the application of technology; leads or participates in the development of business cases including defining key business metrics and performance measures to gauge effectiveness of tools relative to business strategies and goals

WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY

Work experience: Minimum of five (5) years’ progressive experience in medium to large/Technology environments. Minimum of three (3) years’ of business analysis experience.

Education: Fundamental understanding in Business Solution Assessment, Requirements Analysis, Business Process Modeling and Enterprise Analysis. Competent in authoring requirements documents designed to be understood by business and where traceability to solution can be easily established. Knowledge of Digital agile practices and business and technical approaches.
