Senior Business Analyst (Mortgages/Loans)

The Senior Business Analyst provides strategic business analysis services to business partners. The focus of this position is to work closely with the business units to gain in-depth understanding of business strategy, processes, services, roadmap and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding the capabilities needed to address business challenges particularly in Mortgage Loans Originations process.

The senior business analyst’s primary objective is helping businesses implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Review with business partner and document business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological requirements and risks.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
  • Communicates effectively with business partners to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management or technical team
  • Documents requirements, specifications, business processes and makes recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Documents workflows, results of business analysis and obtain sign-off from business on the business requirement documentation
  • Support user acceptance testing in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results
  • Adhere to existing processes/standards including the system development life cycle and project management methodology, architecture and escalate issues if necessary
  • Contribute to the development of project plans by participating in the scoping and estimating of proposed projects
  • Communicate project status and provide timely escalation of issues to the Project manager or Application manager
  • Provide exceptional services to IT and business areas.

EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years’ experience as business analyst.
  • 10+ years’ experience in financial industry is required, preferably mortgages and loan originations.
  • Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP) – an asset
  • Experience with Agile methodology
