This is a Hybrid role in Ottawa ON

Position Summary

Thales is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst who will be involved in documenting and maturing processes for the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship and Joint Support Ship In‑Service Support (AJISS) program. The Business Analyst will contribute to the development and renewal of Value Stream Maps (VSM) using LEAN methodologies, identify areas for improvement, formulate value propositions, and work with the AJISS Team and Change Manager to adapt processes for updated technology.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Lead the Business Analysis team within AJISS responsible for process definition and maturity;
  • Collaborate to define and refine processes based on end‑user interviews/workshops or pain points gathered from within AJISS and/or the DND/RCN;
  • Apply LEAN techniques, including Value Stream Mapping, to assess enterprise process maturity;
  • Formulate value propositions in preparation for engagements with sponsors/customers;
  • Deliver requirements, pain points and opportunities through analysis of existing tools, processes and data;
  • Liaise with the AJISS Team to ensure coherence in the messaging to the AJISS Customer;
  • Contribute to the development of VECPs per the approved AJISS template, including a description of the change proposal, its benefits, a cost breakdown and a general notion of value proposition;
  • Recommend how to promote a collaborative and innovation culture to DND/RCN and across the AJISS Enterprise.
Basic Qualifications
  • University degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or a relevant discipline;
  • 12+ years of experience documenting business processes and system requirements;
  • Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience within the last 10 years leading Business Analysis activities or workshops in a large‑scale project;
  • Proven problem‑solving and analytic skills with a track record of successful outcomes; recognized for ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization; flexible, adaptable and willing to learn; capable of developing strong relationships across the business through excellent customer service;
  • Experience in business/enterprise architecture; experience in developing business strategies; experience in a Navy or Aviation maintenance context;
  • Practical experience in design thinking/design workshops.

Compensation

The reference Total Target Compensation (TTC) market range for this position, inclusive of annual base salary and the variable compensation target, is between 111,710.72 CAD and 201,817.01 CAD annually.
