Role Overview

The Advanced Analytics team within Fidelity Canada ULC’s finance department supports various business units and the senior executive team with advanced analytical solutions to support decision making. In collaboration with IT, the team works with internal clients on leveraging data, establishing patterns and customer journeys, as well as identifying and communicating significant business trends.

The Senior Analyst Advanced Analytics role plans, designs, develops, and deploys analytical solutions throughout the organization, while objectively evaluating the effectiveness of various sales and marketing activities using various data mining techniques.

What You Will Do

Stakeholder Management (20-30%)

  • Works with key stakeholders to understand the business problem and translate it into appropriate analytics solution.
  • Engages with key stakeholders for smooth execution, delivery and implementation of solutions
  • Balance interests and negotiate solutions that drive consensus while supporting business objectives

Developing and Delivering Solutions (40-50%)

  • Hands-on experience with statistical modelling techniques using python
  • Marketing, events, sales campaign analysis (AB tests, Pre vs. Post, Journey orchestration)
  • Evaluates and develops advanced tools, methodologies or infrastructure to support long-term business problems and take the group to the next level
  • Works with tech teams to bring models to production and to identify and resolve any data, environment, or implementation issues.
  • Understanding of agile development and model development lifecycle, familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Research and prototype AI/ML Solutions, development of emerging analytics techniques
  • Storytelling with the help of visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI etc.) and enhance existing data visualization capabilities for Sales, Marketing & Leadership team
  • Data engineering, Ad-hoc data management and periodic reporting

Collaboration and Ownership (10-20%)

  • Sharing of knowledge, best practices with the team including coaching or training in AI/ML methodologies. Provides mentoring, coaching, and consulting advice and guidance to staff, e.g. analytic methodologies, data recommendations.
  • Takes complete independent ownership of the projects and the initiatives in the team with minimal support.
  • Centralized analytics expertise reduces redundancies and maintains consistent impartial messaging to management.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3-5 years of experience employing various statistical modelling and data analysis techniques, such as linear / logistic regression, decision trees, affinity analysis, clustering/segmentation, and time series forecasting
  • University degree (Engineering, Math/Statistics or Computer Science related) or equivalent work experience
  • Experience deciphering complex data and effectively communicating results to stakeholders.
  • Enjoy building solutions and are comfortable writing codes and using analytical tools such as Knime
  • Experience with visualization software (Tableau, Power BI), Python and SQL
  • Experience applying advanced consumer intelligence / marketing techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
The Following are Assets
  • Knowledge and experience in financial services, with a focus on the investment industry
  • Experience in Adobe Stack, digital analytics, marketing and advertising
  • Certification in KNIME, SAS or SPSS, Snowflake, Tableau
  • Experience in working with APIs and real time data connectivity to various service providers.
  • Knowledge of Gen AI/LLM/NLP
