As a Senior Advisor, Market Risk Oversight, you will play a key role in supporting risk management activities related to financial risk, with a primary focus on market risk. You will contribute to developing and maintaining risk frameworks, support monitoring and reporting processes, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and managed in line with regulatory expectations and internal policies.

Reporting to the Director, Financial Risk Oversight, you will be part of Group Risk Management and Compliance, acting as a key contributor to maintaining a strong risk culture across the organization.

What you’ll accomplish with us
  • Lead the monitoring and reporting of market risk exposures and other financial risks, including counterparty credit risk, while ensuring alignment with regulatory guidelines and internal standards.
  • Develop and maintain financial risk indicators and limits related to market risk, and oversee exposure monitoring and limit tracking activities.
  • Oversee Private Assets such as Private Equity, Infrastructure, and Real Estate, and evaluate derivative positions used for hedging purposes.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of policies and guidelines for financial risk oversight, including market risk, and contribute to risk quantification through data analysis and model support (e.g., VaR models).
  • Prepare and participate in quarterly financial risk reports for senior management and governance committees, track and report on watch list accounts, and elevate concerns as needed.

  • Has a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, mathematics, or a related field, and a minimum of 8 years of experience in market risk or financial risk management.
  • Brings experience with modeling market risk (e.g., VaR models), Private Assets or Derivatives, and understands regulatory frameworks (AMF/OSFI) on financial risk.
  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, or CAIA are an asset.
  • Advanced proficiency in French is an asset, as you will regularly collaborate with peers on a national scale.
