Job Description

The Security Technician is a motivated organized and personable individual willing to contribute their experience and expertise in the area of service and installation of Alarm Intrusion Access Control and CCTV Systems. The Security Technician is a team player and a vital member of the CFLS Team.

The Security Technician role is a full time - hourly position. The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following tasks:

Task and Responsibilities
  • Perform service and installation work on various intrusion access control and video surveillance systems.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and clients regarding status and progress of assigned work.
  • Door hardware installation and configuring.
  • Self motivation and interest in industry knowledge.
  • Perform routine inspections of intrusion and fire monitoring systems.
  • Work with aerial lifts, ladders and hand tools.
  • Safe use of power tools.
  • Install cabling and conduit in commercial and industrial buildings.
  • Prepare concise and timely work orders while on site.
  • Prepare weekly time sheets and submit for payroll.
  • Required to be on the On-Call after hours rotation.
  • Keep company vehicle organized and properly stocked with supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years experience as an installation and security service technician; an asset.
  • Logical thinking and troubleshooting; an asset.
  • Understanding of data networks and network-based systems; an asset.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
  • General construction knowledge; an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the fire alarm and sprinkler industry; an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
