Position: Security Manager

Site: Nova Chemicals, 785 Petrolia Line, Corunna ON

Rate: $32.21 hourly

Hours: Monday - Friday 0700-1530

Posting Date: 12/18/2025

Internal Closing Date: 12/24/2025

External Closing Date: 1/6/2026

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate security activities across all four Manufacturing East Sites.
  • Ensure adequate staffing of security guards at each location.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess security performance and compliance.
  • Draft, review, and update site-specific security post orders to reflect operational requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee contracted security staff, including onboarding, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Address disciplinary issues and ensure professionalism among security staff.
  • Administer the Trilogy lock program across all sites.
  • Maintain accurate logs of key assignments and conduct periodic audits to ensure accountability.
  • Lead investigations of security incidents and prepare detailed reports.
  • Maintain accurate records of access permissions.
  • Coordinate issuance of regional vehicle tags for contractors, and visitors.
  • Track attendance, evaluate training effectiveness, and maintain training records.
  • Liaison with outside agencies such as Police, Site Watch, Neighboring companies, (on projects investigations and coordination of services).
  • This position requires excellent communication skills with the emphasis on practical industrial knowledge and presentation expertise. The job requires tact and interpersonal skills.
  • Although this position is primarily stationed out of an office it is also mobile management position with physical demands pertaining to climbing stairs, building tours, emergency response and computer work throughout the day.
  • On call for emergency & security related issues 24/7 as available
Prerequisites
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in security management, preferably in industrial or chemical environments.
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems (CCTV, access control, Trilogy lock systems, keying programs, vehicle tag programs, emergency communication systems).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to travel between sites as required.
  • Ontario Security Guard License.
  • First Aid & CPR (Level C).
  • Experience in Emergency Response.
  • Diploma in Law Enforcement.
  • Strong Administrative Skill Set.
