Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Ensure access control policies are followed.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras effectively.
  • Conduct regular interior and exterior foot patrols.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and calls for assistance.
  • Complete daily logs and site reporting.

Skills

Valid Ontario Security Guard License

Ability to drive Kubota/Golf cart
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
Strong communication skills

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well-being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.

We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
  • Ensure access control policies and procedures are followed and client property is secured
  • Monitor CCTV cameras
  • Maintain positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors and clients
  • Complete site reporting requirements, daily logs and written reports
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and deportment
  • Maintain effective communication
  • Respond to alarms and calls for assistance
  • Provide assistance to employees, clients and visitors
  • Regular interior and exterior foot patrols
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or site supervisor

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma
  • MUST Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • MUST Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • The Vulnerable Sector Check must be completed and submitted prior to the start date.
  • Must be able to drive Kubota/Golf cart
  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 lbs
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential

  • Hours of work: Continental Shift 0600 to 1800 hrs
