Job summary

A global risk management and security company is seeking licensed Security Guards for various assignments throughout Ontario. This temporary position requires a valid security guard license and flexibility to travel on short notice. Applicants must be able to handle confrontational situations and work long shifts, earning approximately $1,872.00 per week. Hotel accommodations and per diem are provided when lodging is required.

Qualifications

  • Possess a valid security guard license in the province of Ontario.
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Able to sit, walk, stand, and or drive for extended periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Experience dealing with confrontational situations.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy to various assignments including labour disruptions.
  • Manage organized protests and crises such as crime scenes.
  • Ensure safety and security in high-risk situations.

Overview

AFIMAC is seeking licensed Security Guards for upcoming projects throughout the province of Ontario.

This is a temporary contract position, so it may not be suitable to someone currently working full time.

You will earn approximately $1,872.00 per week while on assignment.

Contract and Compensation
  • $18.00 per hour before overtime
  • Hotel accommodations provided when required
  • $30 per diem when lodging required
  • Contract length 1-120 days
Responsibilities
  • AFIMAC Security Guards are deployed to various types of assignments including:
  • Labour Disruptions
  • Organized protests
  • Man made crisis / disasters (crime scenes, structural fires, etc.)
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess a valid security guard license in the province of Ontario
  • Flexibility and a willingness to travel on short notice within your home province to projects for extended periods of time (minimum 4 week commitment)
  • Ability to work 84 hours per week: 12 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Able to sit, walk, stand, and or drive for extended periods of time
  • Able to read, write, and speak English
  • Be a Canadian resident and legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Previous experience dealing with confrontational situations and having the ability to de-escalate with little to no supervision
  • Excellent report writing skills
