Job Description

Allied Universal is looking for Professional Security Agents to join our team in Cornwall. As a Security Agent, you will be responsible for ensuring the security of customer properties and their personnel. This role involves a combination of customer service, security operations and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, the ability to manage crisis situations and a customer-centric approach.

Workplace: Cornwall Ontario

Position type: Part-Time

Salary range: 19.00 to 22.06$ plus bonuses

Shift: Friday, Monday To Friday

Saturday and Sunday

Schedule: 06h00 - 18h00, 18h00 - 06h00

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control access to the site, ensuring that only authorized persons can enter.
• Conduct regular patrols of data center premises to identify and resolve security risks.
• Incident response: Respond to security incidents and emergencies, ensuring the safety of all parties involved.
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control and alarm systems.
• Reporting: Maintain accurate security logs and incident reports; elevate issues as necessary.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with provincial and local security regulations.
• Team collaboration: Work closely with other safety staff and customer personnel to maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of proven experience as a security guard or in a similar environment.
• Fluency in spoken and written English, including the ability to produce reports or communicate with customers and other stakeholders.
• Must pass a full 5-year background check and have a clean security record.
• Computer skills required: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for reports and documentation.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with video surveillance systems (CCTV), access control systems and alarm monitoring software.
• Excellent observation and surveillance skills.
• Must possess a valid Montreal Security License (BSP).
• First aid card required.
• Must be authorized to work in Canada up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license.
• Certificate of use is mandatory.
