Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, visible, and alert security presence.
• Greet, assist, and direct staff and visitors as needed.
• Protect clients, property, and assets by carrying out assigned duties.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols, respond to emergencies, and assist as required.
• Document and report incidents, investigations, and daily activities.
• Monitor CCTV, enforce access control, and manage keys.
• Support patient watches and enforce hospital policies, parking, and smoking by-laws.
• Conduct monthly safety inspections and report deficiencies.
• Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently when required.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C Certificate (from a WSIB-approved provider)
• Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccine (minimum double vaccination)
• A copy of immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Pertussis and TB tests)
• Steps to obtain immunization records: immunization forms are available through the employer resources; completed immunization for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis is required at the time of hire
• Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding)
• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience preferred
• Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience preferred
• Must be able to commit to full-time availability for no less than 6 months
• English proficiency (oral & written) is required
• Bilingualism (English/French) is considered an asset
• 6+ months of customer service experience is considered an asset
• Must be able to provide certifications in Stay Safe
• Applicants can opt into Paladin's Stay Safe certification program prior to onboarding certification to meet position requirements
• Stay Safe certification is a prerequisite; Paladin covers certification costs with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
• Authorized to legally work in Canada
