Job Summary

The Security Architect will support cybersecurity initiatives for one of Canada’s largest power suppliers, contributing to secure systems design, risk mitigation, and protection of critical infrastructure. This role requires experience working within IT and security, with recent exposure to utilities‑sector cybersecurity projects. The architect will help ensure secure architectures, provide security guidance, and contribute to project deliverables that protect operational and customer systems across SaskPower’s environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply security architecture principles to IT and operational technology (OT) environments.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure cybersecurity controls are embedded in system design.
  • Support cybersecurity roadmaps, standards, policies, and project deliverables.
  • Review designs, perform threat modeling, and recommend security improvements.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity documentation and solution recommendations for utilities‑focused projects.
  • Ensure alignment with industry best practices and regulatory expectations.
  • Participate in cross‑functional discussions to support secure system implementation.
Required Experience
  • Experience working in IT security.
  • Recent experience (within the last two years) supporting cybersecurity deliverables in the utilities industry.
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • CISSP or related security certification.
  • Broader utilities cybersecurity project experience.
  • Experience supporting large, enterprise‑scale security programs.
