Responsibilities
  • Manage and monitor several security systems, analyze and assess security events, report threats and incidents to technical staff and management, and ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner; provide ongoing security reporting to management.
  • Perform intermediate level management and monitoring of SIEM, EDR, and XDR systems.
  • Interface with the security contacts of various technical teams to report security alerts and threats.
  • Generate monthly reports for management.
  • Perform intermediate level management and monitoring of the Vulnerability Management system; interface with security contacts to report vulnerabilities; generate monthly vulnerability reports to management.
  • Perform quality control administrative tasks as part of the Access Control Process to help ensure access is managed with precision and efficiency.
  • Monitor compliance, alerts, and events related to various forms of cyber-attacks and threats; interface with security contacts to report detected issues.
Location and Work Arrangement

This opportunity can be based out of our office in Dartmouth, NS OR Moncton, NB. There will be a hybrid work component, requiring in-office presence from time to time for meetings and required work.

Professional Qualifications & Competencies
  • Experience in securing file shares and/or databases.
  • Fundamental knowledge and certification (CCNA) in network architecture.
  • Formal training related to information security or a security certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISA, or a SANS certification would be an asset.
  • Experience in administering or implementing access controls to secured systems.
  • Fundamental knowledge of security threats and vulnerabilities and resolving security incidents.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure Entra, SharePoint and the Microsoft Security Platform.
  • Fundamental knowledge of security systems such as Anti-Virus, Vulnerability Scanners, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Firewalls, and Intrusion Detection/Prevention would be an asset.
  • Fundamental knowledge of SIEM and/or XDR systems would be an asset.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Relevant University degree or College diploma.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in the IT industry with minimum 2 years dedicated to security.
Language and Clearance
  • Language: English required, bilingual an asset.
  • Security Clearance: Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) required, including Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check with residence in Canada for at least 5 years and holding Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.
