Secondary Teacher, Long-Term Occasional Assignment

Closing Date: September 25, 2025 at 4pm. This posting is open to Teachers on the Occasional Teachers list currently employed by Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board and external applicants.

Salary is paid based on the salary grid of the Collective Agreement with OECTA according to QECO rating and years of experience.

Assignments

• St. Theresa Secondary Catholic School — 1.0 FTE, Intermediate/Senior Teacher of Civics/Careers & Special Education Resource Teacher (Learning Strategies) & (Preparation & Planning for LSDC) (3 Sections, Semester 1), Long-Term Occasional Assignment. Commencing immediately until further notice.
• Nicholson Catholic College — 0.33 FTE, Intermediate/Senior Teacher of English (1 Section, Semester 1), Long-Term Occasional Assignment. Commencing immediately until January 29, 2026.
• Nicholson Catholic College — 0.667 FTE, Intermediate/Senior Teacher of English & Religious Education (2 Sections, Semester 1), Long-Term Occasional Assignment. Commencing immediately until January 29, 2026.

An Application Package Will Include The Following Documents:

• Cover Letter with Resume
• Current Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers
• Submission of current within 1 year OR a Roman Catholic Baptismal Certificate
• Two professional letters of reference

As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must provide a Criminal Background Check (CBC) with vulnerable sector screening current within six months of date of hire.

Note: Filling of long-term occasional assignments shall occur without an in-person interview. Boards shall continue to staff long-term occasional assignments from the 3 most senior qualified applicants who are available for the assignment. Being available means not already being assigned to another LTO position during the term of the posted assignment.
