Posting Overview

This is an internal/external posting. First preference will be given to qualified permanent L.K.D.S.B. secondary teachers. Only applicants that select the letter designation(s) they are applying for through the online process will be considered. All vacancies at L.K.C.S. will include a virtual learning component.

The Following Permanent Vacancies Are Available

A) N.C.I.V.S. - 0.33 - General Studies Civics and Careers (Effective January 30, 2026) B) W.D.S.S. - 1.0 - Sr. English (Effective February 2, 2026)

Qualifications/Experience
  • Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification in the respective Division and subject area;
  • experience in stated assignment is preferred;
  • Special Education qualifications are required for ABLE/Resource/Intensive Services positions;
  • Special Education qualifications are preferred for positions at A.M.S.S.;
  • French qualifications and fluency in French Immersion is required for French Immersion positions;
  • Guidance Part 1 is required for Guidance positions;
  • Co-Op Part 1 is required for Co-Op positions;
  • Special Education Part 1 is required for Student Success positions;
  • Special Education Part 1 is required for ALLP positions;
  • experience with committee work including Literacy, MDT team, and safe schools is an asset for Student Success positions;
  • knowledge of current curriculum directions;
  • excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents and staff;
  • positive interaction as part of the school team;
  • consistent and fair classroom management;
  • working with youth in a variety of settings;
  • working with indigenous young people is an asset;
  • electronic report card experience is an asset;
  • computer skills are an asset.
