Here's how a Scheduling Coordinator for our Atlantic Canada District contributes to our team :

Responsibilities

  • Understand project document controls and procedures.
  • Include contract requirements in the schedule as directed by senior management.
  • Provide supporting information for schedule impact analysis related to contract changes and project impacts.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs for production analysis.
  • Communicate with site staff and subcontractors to determine actual construction progress and track it.
  • Actively listen and ask questions to gather information for schedule updates.
  • Conduct site walks to verify the construction process against the schedule.
  • Support the project team with schedule updates.
  • Assist with interactive planning and scheduling sessions.
  • Update schedule logic as needed.
  • Collaborate with field supervision on look-ahead planning.
  • Help schedulers monitor and communicate project schedules to the project team and district staff.
  • Develop and maintain strong, customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Promote a culture of solutions and profitability.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Applicable scheduling certification (asset).
  • Knowledge of construction specifications, building materials, methods, procedures, and the ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposals.
  • Knowledge of contracts and business acumen.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles to construction challenges.
  • Experience in maintaining project schedules.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team with multiple stakeholders, including estimators, field supervision, subcontractors, project team, and clients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility to changing needs.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software like Primavera P6 EPPM.
  • Understanding of Critical Path Scheduling in construction.
