Job summary

A leading chocolate manufacturer in Brantford is seeking a dedicated individual to maintain cleanliness and compliance in a food production facility. As a key member of the team, you will perform sanitation duties, operate cleaning equipment, and ensure a safe working environment. Candidates must have a High School Diploma, with experience in food manufacturing viewed favorably. Key responsibilities
  • Sanitize equipment and facilities in compliance with food manufacturing regulations and GMP standards.
  • Perform plant cleaning tasks as outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain general housekeeping across all areas.
  • Operate cleaning equipment safely and effectively, including power washers, foam applicators, scrubbers, compactors, lifts, and manual tools.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery and processing equipment, such as pumps and bucket elevators, for thorough cleaning.
  • Use and maintain proper PPE in accordance with OSHA and GMP guidelines, or as directed by supervisors.
  • Follow safety and hygiene procedures, including safe lifting techniques and injury reporting protocols.
  • Apply allergen elimination procedures and ensure compliance with sanitation standards in assigned areas.
  • Read and follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for the safe preparation and use of chemical cleaning agents.
  • Participate in safety training, team development programs, and plant initiatives to support a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Assist with spill containment and pest control, including reporting pest activity and removing product debris.
  • Work independently and efficiently, with minimal supervision, and perform additional duties as required.
About you
  • High School Diploma.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment an asset.
  • Working at Heights and Arial Lift Certification.
  • Must be able to freely move around entire facility.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Comfortable Working at Heights.
  • Exposure to excessive noise, heat, cold and dust.
  • Mild chemical exposure.
  • Stooping, kneeling, bending, working from heights, smelling.
  • While performing some of the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
