Samaritan's Purse Canada Jasper AB Church Recovery Specialist

Samaritan's Purse Canada is seeking a dedicated Church Recovery Specialist to make a meaningful impact in the recovery journey of local churches in Jasper, Alberta.

Samaritan's Purse is a Christian international relief organization providing spiritual and physical aid to hurting people around the world. The successful candidate will fulfill a remote full-time six-month contract position, working from a home office situated in close proximity to Jasper, Alberta.

Responsibilities include:

  • Attending local emergency management meetings to identify potential service gaps and assess the needs of individuals and the community.
  • Collaborating in the development of a community entry strategy to gain a deeper understanding of the local context.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with churches, providing ongoing communication and support throughout the recovery process.
  • Assisting and providing counsel to church leadership and facilitating ministry revival.
  • Keeping detailed records of churches in the community, documenting and reporting on support provided.

Qualifications:

  • Committed to Christian values and precepts and in agreement with the Samaritan's Purse Statement of Faith.
  • Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in seminary, social work, communications, emergency management, healthcare, or other relevant field.
  • Experience in ministry, humanitarian aid, social work, emergency management, first response, is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Adaptable to varying schedules, including evenings and weekends, as required based on community needs.
