Overview

We are currently looking to hire a MANAGER, OUTSIDE SALES for our client, a national leader in Waste & Recycling services, located in Montréal-Est, QC.

Job Description

Reporting to the Area Sales Manager, the Manager, Outside Sales will be responsible for leading a high-performing sales and retention team focused on growing and maintaining business within the assigned region. This leadership role combines strategic execution, team development, and customer engagement in a fast-paced, service-driven environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and execution of the Area’s Sales & Marketing Plan with a focus on pricing strategies, service quality, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of sales and account management professionals to drive retention, revenue growth, and service quality.
  • Oversee the Area’s proactive account retention program; assign accounts appropriately across the team.
  • Reinforce and support execution of corporate retention strategies and account service initiatives.
  • Set and maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction across all client interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with Area Management to resolve escalated customer issues.
  • Manage daily operations of the Sales & Retention team, ensuring performance targets are met or exceeded across pricing, upgrades, and agreements.
  • Mentor, train, and coach team members to strengthen sales and service effectiveness.
  • Partner with the Area Sales Manager on pricing strategies and ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Promote the effective use of sales tools (proposal systems, CRM, pricing platforms); ensure team adoption and proficiency.
  • Analyze customer loss trends and lead corrective action planning.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise on industry practices, regulations, and trends.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key client executives; ensure expectations are exceeded.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of top-performing sales talent.
Qualifications
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; will consider candidates with a High School Diploma or GED and 5+ years of business-to-business sales experience.
  • Completion of company training and approval by Market Area management is required for participation in incentive programs.
Experience
  • 3+ years in a B2B sales management role, plus 3+ years of direct business-to-business sales experience.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a high-performing team.
  • Demonstrated success in customer service, retention, and revenue generation.
Other Requirements
  • Bilingual in French and English is mandatory due to frequent interaction with clients and colleagues outside of Quebec.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and proposal generation tools.
