About the Role

We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our Edmonton team. The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for supporting safety policies and procedures. This position plays a key role in promoting a culture of safety within our manufacturing facility.

Established in 1982, Great Little Box Company is a family-owned and operated leading manufacturer of Labels, Corrugated Boxes & Displays, Folding Cartons, KBA, Digital Packaging, Protective Packaging, and the distribution of Shipping Supplies. Responsibilities
  • Promote and ensure compliance with OHS regulation, company’s safety policies and safety procedures
  • Continuing support of safety programs implementation
  • Conduct safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Assist in delivering safety toolbox talks, safety orientation, and safety training as prescribed
  • Support incident investigations and ensure safety improvement actions are on track
  • Support internal and external required notifications (ie. regulatory, incidents, etc.).
  • Support WCB claims and recover at work program
  • Facilitate JHSC meeting and document meeting minutes
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response planning
  • Maintain documentation and records for safety compliance
  • Support procurement of safety supplies
  • Acting as a liaison with safety vendors
  • Support Safety COR certification and Food Safety certification activities
  • Support 5S and other Continuous Improvement initiatives as prescribed
Qualifications And Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree an asset
  • Diploma or certification in Occupational Health & Safety an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Health & Safety role
  • Knowledge of Alberta regional health and safety legislation
  • Experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations and audits
  • Experience with claims management/return to work protocol
