The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Occupational Health and Safety, a valid Class 3 Driver's Licence, and the ability to lead practical training for drivers. Qualifications

  • Education in Occupational Health and Safety and familiarity with COR Safety Programs.
  • Demonstrated professional driving experience with a valid Class 3 licence.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software.

Job description

As the Safety & Training Supervisor with MWM Environmental you will lead a wide variety of training and safety planning/implementation across the three Manitoba divisions. As the lead trainer for new Class 3 Drivers, you will require a Class 3 License and driving experience to effectively provide hands on training for new and existing drivers. There will be frequent travel needed across the divisions during weekdays, with a guarantee to be home every weekend and stable working hours. You will have the opportunity to grow your safety knowledge through paid training opportunities and grow your diverse skillsets!

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Orientate and lead training of all new and existing employees, with a focus on hands‑on training of all new and existing drivers including frequent ride‑a‑longs and annual reviews
  • Coordinate and implement organization‑wide training and safety activities.
  • Serve as an information resource and advisor for staff regarding safety questions, and lead safety committee meetings.
  • Maintain COR certifications and lead COR certification process for new divisions
  • Provide recommendations for improving safety in the workplace environment and work with Management staff to implement change.
  • Implement corrective action when employees engage in unsafe practices

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
  • Education and Training in Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S), including familiarity with COR Safety Programs, Safety Legislation, Hazard Identification, and Safe‑Work Practices.
  • Valid Class 3 Drivers Licence with demonstrated professional driving experience.
  • Driver training or instructional experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel and preparing reports.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new software systems. Prior experience with SiteDocs, Fleetio, Samsara, or comparable programs will be considered an asset.
