Job summary

A healthcare facility in Ontario is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse for the Acute Medicine Unit. The role includes responsibilities for geriatric and palliative inpatients, coordination within an interprofessional team, and mentorship responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in nursing, be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical or geriatric setting. This is a permanent full-time position with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from a recognized Registered Practical Nursing two year diploma program.
  • Current BCLS certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of recent medical/geriatric experience is preferred.
  • Advance Physical Assessment Skill is required.

Responsibilities

  • RPN responsibilities for general medicine, geriatric, ALC and palliative inpatients.
  • Coordination of care within an interprofessional team.
  • Complete electronic Meditech 6.0 documentation system.
  • Participation in unit based projects or hospital committees as required.
  • Mentorship for new hires and pre-grad RPN nursing students.
