Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment (Developer / Coordinator / Verifier – Key Expert)

Contract Duration: Estimated start March 2026; initial term of approximately 12 months with potential for extension based on project needs.
Work Location: Canada (supporting Romanian nuclear project); hybrid work model.
Work Schedule: Full-time.

The Mechanical Engineer – Rotating Equipment will support the development, coordination, and verification of maintenance and reliability programs for a Romanian nuclear project. This role focuses on rotating equipment and involves applying predictive and investigative techniques to support safe, reliable, and effective equipment performance across the project lifecycle.

Experience and Role Accountabilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and verify preventive and condition-based maintenance programs for rotating equipment and associated components.
  • Support at least one completed project involving PM, PDM, TBM, and/or CBM programs.
  • Apply predictive maintenance techniques (such as vibration analysis) to evaluate equipment condition and performance.
  • Use structured investigative and problem-solving methodologies (e.g. Kepner‑Tregoe) to support root cause analysis and technical investigations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering, maintenance, and reliability teams to ensure technical accuracy and program alignment.
  • Provide technical input and verification support for maintenance strategies within a nuclear project environment.
Education and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a combination of these disciplines.
  • Minimum three (3) years of professional experience following graduation.
  • Training in predictive maintenance techniques (e.g. vibration analysis).
  • Training in investigative or analytical problem‑solving methodologies.
  • Strong technical documentation and coordination skills.
  • Professional English communication skills, written and spoken.

  • Experience coordinating and/or verifying at least one project involving PM, PDM, TBM, or CBM programs for equipment and/or components.
  • Formal training in predictive techniques such as vibration analysis.

Nice to have
  • Experience supporting nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated industrial projects.
  • Experience working on international or multi‑country engineering projects.
  • Familiarity with reliability‑centered maintenance principles and asset management practices.
  • Previous experience in a long‑term project or program‑based contract environment.
