Qualifications

  • International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant within 1 year.

PeaceHealth is seeking a RN Lactation Consultant - OB GYN for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $47.34 – $71.00. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Details of the position:
  • Develop, plan, coordinate and evaluate the lactation program.
  • Provide lactation assessment, education, support and counseling.
  • Utilize the principles of adult education to assess, plan, implement and evaluate lactation classes for patients. Available to provide appropriate education to staff and healthcare providers.
  • Manage resource materials for lactation program.
  • Coordinate community education and outreach activities for lactation.
  • May coordinate/supervise staff working in the lactation program as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
  • Accredited School of Nursing Required: Nursing and
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Minimum of 4 years Required: Clinical experience, with specific experience working in maternity services and/or lactation consulting and
  • Preferred: Experience as a community or patient educator, including curriculum development
  • Required: Registered Nurse in state of practice and
  • Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support and
  • Required: within 1 Year International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant
Skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (Required).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Required).
  • Effective teaching skills (Required).
  • Ability to work within a self-directed team setting (Required).
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Required).
