An established industry player is seeking a compassionate Resident Support Worker to join their dedicated team. POSITION TYPE: CASUAL
Position: Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director and in accordance with shelter standards, philosophy and goals, the Resident Support Worker functions as a member of a team in providing supportive services designed to support women in their recovery from the effects of abuse by an intimate partner or family member. The worker acts as a role model, guide, counsellor, and advocate to assist residents in recognizing their current needs and goals, to make informed decisions and develop healthy relationships. The Residential Support Worker is expected to work with families in a mutual effort to confront and to overcome those conditions that have contributed to personal difficulties and to do so in a manner that encourages self-awareness, self-worth and increased independence.
Hours: Casual Shifts – Must be available to work up to two 8-hour shifts a week and two full weekends a month.
