The Research Technician III (RT III) will demonstrate advanced participation in study procedures, requiring keen attention to detail and higher technical skills than Level II roles. The RT III will work with minimal supervision, be responsible for study duties, documentation, setup, and execution, and have a clear understanding of study objectives and protocol variations. This position also requires a higher understanding of animal health.

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Activities

  • Leading in vivo study procedures in the Companion Animal Department.
  • Documenting experimental details with integrity and accuracy.
  • Assisting in data summary reports, data entry, and quality control.
  • Performing husbandry duties ensuring animal care according to guidelines and SOPs.
  • Leading team efforts to ensure project success and quality.
  • Maintaining inventory of supplies.
  • Assisting with animal facility maintenance in accordance with guidelines and laws.
  • Participating in internal committees and explaining techniques to new staff and visitors.
  • Training staff on procedures and other duties as assigned.
Technical Skills and Procedures

Operate centrifuges, perform blood separation, restrain animals, and conduct basic and advanced procedures including drug administration, blood collection, catheter placement, sedation, veterinary treatments, behavioral testing, data management, and more.
