A leading sustainability organization based in Winnipeg seeks a candidate with 2-4 years of experience in legal research and project coordination, particularly in the extractives sector. This full-time position requires fluency in English and French, strong writing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. The candidate will engage in legal research, support project implementation, and manage communications with stakeholders. Salary is between $47,000 to $57,000 CAD annually, with a hybrid work model available.
The International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) is a globally recognized think tank with 3 decades of experience working to solve the world’s most pressing sustainable development challenges. We combine deep expertise in a wide range of issues with a collaborative approach to research, policy advice, and hands‑on support to ensure these solutions are brought to life. Headquartered in Winnipeg, Manitoba, we are a diverse team of over 300 professionals working from offices in Canada, Switzerland, and other locations around the world.
The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development (IGF) supports its more than 85 member countries in advancing their sustainable development goals through effective laws, policies, and regulations for the mining sector. With a growing demand from our members, we are seeking support for our team, with a particular focus on legal and regulatory frameworks and dispute resolution and prevention, as well as at the intersections of other work areas of the IGF Mining Policy Framework.

Location: Hybrid, Winnipeg
Candidates must hold an appropriate work authorization for locations where they expect to be based, without any sponsorship from IISD.
Salary: $47,000 CAD- $57,000 CAD Annually
