Registered Nurses (RN) in a Long-Term Care Setting in Hawkesbury

We are looking for Registered Nurses (RN) in a Long-Term Care Setting in Hawkesbury , Ottawa.

CNO Required.

Open to full‑time hours, part‑time hours, or casual!

Shifts: 8‑hour shifts (7:00am 3:00pm / 3:00pm 11:00pm / 11:00pm 7:00am)

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and ongoing evaluations of resident health conditions.
  • Create, implement, and revise individualized care plans aligned with clinical best practices.
  • Deliver skilled nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and emergency response.
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure resident‑centered care.

Medication & Treatment Oversight:

  • Safely administer medications and treatments per physician orders.
  • Monitor residents for therapeutic and adverse responses to medications.
  • Ensure accurate medication documentation and reconciliation.

Advocacy & Resident Engagement:

  • Champion residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial well‑being.
  • Communicate effectively with residents and their families to support informed decision‑making.
  • Support meaningful activities that promote dignity, autonomy, and quality of life.

Leadership & Supervision:

  • Provide leadership and clinical guidance to RPNs, PSWs, and other healthcare staff.
  • Participate in training, mentoring, and performance evaluations of team members.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Maintain clear, accurate documentation aligned with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Ensure compliance with facility protocols, CNO standards, and long‑term care regulations.
  • Participate in audits, incident reporting, and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).

Experience:

  • Previous experience in long‑term care, geriatrics, or a similar healthcare setting strongly preferred.
  • Solid clinical judgment and ability to manage complex resident needs.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring nursing staff is an asset.

  • In‑depth knowledge of nursing care principles, best practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize effectively, and respond calmly in high‑pressure situations.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
