The North Lambton Community Health Centre is a community-governed health centre serving identified priority populations in a defined catchment area. The Centre operates multiple sites in Ontario: Forest, Kettle & Stony Point, Watford and S. Our interdisciplinary team of providers includes physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, social workers, health promoters, dietitians and physiotherapists. We are currently seeking a

REGISTERED NURSE - FIRST FIVE PROGRAM

FULL TIME - 37.5 HOURS PER WEEK

The Registered Nurse (RN) supports the delivery of the First Five Program, which provides early childhood and family-centred care to children ages 0–5 and their caregivers. As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the RN provides clinical care, health teaching, developmental and health screening, immunizations, and support in navigating community resources. The RN functions both independently and in collaboration with other team members to deliver high-quality primary care and early-years services. The RN also demonstrates flexibility and willingness to provide cross-team coverage and support as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse diploma/degree from a recognized institution and relevant training.
  • Member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario; RNAO membership an asset.
  • 3–5 years’ experience working as an RN in community health, primary care, public health, maternal–child health, or pediatric settings.
  • Experience with medication administration, immunization, phlebotomy, and health assessments within the last 3–5 years.
  • Experience working with infants and young children (0–5) and supporting families/caregivers.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in breastfeeding support, infant feeding, growth and developmental milestones, and anticipatory guidance.
  • Experience with program planning, implementation, and evaluation, particularly in early-years or family-focused programs.
  • Ability to conduct developmental and health screening using standardized tools.
  • Registered Nurse Diagnosing and Prescribing program/certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Effective time-management, decision-making, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with computers and software applications.

The rate of pay for this position is $71,399 – $84,800 annually (on a six-step grid), plus benefits. This is a full-time position. The rate of pay will be based on experience and education. The Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) enrolment is available. The incumbent will work primarily at the Sarnia office but must be able to travel to all sites, including outreach locations, as needed.
