Job Purpose

TheRegional Corporate Engagement Advisoris an integral member of the Philanthropy & Partnerships team and willidentify, build, and manage productive relationships withpublic and private corporationsin key sectors within British Columbia,Albertaand Saskatchewantosecure support for World Vision’s mission. The Advisor will focus on business development, including partner identification, cultivation, solicitation, negotiation, and stewardship.

This role will report to thePeople Manager,Churchand Corporate Engagement, while receiving operational direction from the Senior Manager, Corporate Engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Owns and managesregionalportfolio of corporate prospects and partners in support of Corporate Engagement Strategy to meet annuallyestablishedfiscal goals and key performance metrics.
  • Researches,identifies, qualifies, cultivates, stewards, and provides ongoing relationship management to corporate partners to generate new business and deepen existing partnerships.
  • Develops cultivation and solicitation strategies across diverse product offeringsincluding cause marketing, corporate sponsorship, employee engagement, gifts-in-kind and strategic giving by understanding the corporation’s social impactandmarketing interests and priorities, their resource capacity, their business, and marketplace context.
  • Continually improves, develops, and educates oneself and WVC staff and teams involved with corporate engagementand philanthropytoidentifyand implement best practices inpipeline management,research,qualification,prospecting, cultivation, acquisition, fulfillmentreporting,stewardship, due diligence, and risk management.
  • Consistently tracks donor activity andmaintainsdonor records inCRMdatabase.
  • Works closely and effectively withPhilanthropy Enablement Servicesfor related activations, presentations, proposals, impact reports, resource gathering trips and events.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Solid understanding of corporate social responsibility, community investment, social impact, ESG and corporate philanthropy landscape and trends.
  • Highly relational and engaging, withabilitytoestablishtrust and confidenceofprospects quickly and effectively.
  • Experience developing corporate partnerships to secure "gift-in-kind" (product/service non-monetary) donations .
  • Superiorcommunicatoracross written and verbal communication platforms, with a comfort to make oral presentations to small and large audiences.
  • Strategicthinkerwith developed ability to assess opportunities,connectsideas and people to develop strategic profitable engagements,assessrisks, both situationally andregardingbroader trends.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to alignpartner’sinterests,needsand goals with that of WVC to achieve mutual gains.
  • Highlyadept at managing multiple projects, trackingprogress, andproviding clear reporting, and prioritizing among competing imperatives to work most effectively toward revenue goals.
  • Highly collaborative in a the ability to sensitively navigate within a diverse workplace and customer base.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, with a focusinfundraising, business, marketing, sales or other relevant field or equivalent experience>Minimum 3-6 years’ experience in fundraising, cause marketing, corporate philanthropy business development and/or sales experience with a proven track record of raising gifts over $25,000.
  • Exceptional fundraiser or salesperson with experience managing complex customer relationships at all levels of an organization from C-Suite through to interns.
  • A go-get relationship builder
  • Natural storyteller, comfortable with public presentations to large audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively across a diverse, matrix operating environment and customer base.
  • Superiorcommunicatoracross written and verbal communication platforms.
  • Solid understanding of CRA charitable tax compliance.
  • Adept and strategic with CRM systems,dataand analytics.
  • CFRE or pursuit of CFRE an asset
  • Experience working with an international development, or humanitarian organization or large charityan asset
