Job Summary And Requirements

This posting will be used to fill one (1) full-time (75 hours biweekly) casual vacancy until April 17, 2026 and one (1) full-time (75 hours biweekly) term vacancy until August 7, 2026. This posting will also establish a 12-month eligibility list which will be used to fill similar vacancies.

The job is based in the thriving and diverse city of Whitehorse in the beautiful Yukon.

This opportunity

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide therapeutic recreation assessments and formulate individualized and/or group therapy plans, treatment goals and objectives. You will facilitate the development, maintenance and expression of an appropriate leisure lifestyle to individuals with physical, mental, social and/or emotional impairment or limitations. You will also provide clinical direction to the Therapy Assistants/Recreation Therapy Assistants, and provide support to staff and volunteers.

Important Application And Job Requirements
Essential qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in therapeutic recreation/recreation therapy
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) designation with the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC)
  • Experience in clinical recreation assessment and treatment of residents, program development and implementation (in a long-term care setting, is preferred)
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers is an asset
