Overview

As a Recovery Coordinator, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive initiatives within the Order to Cash process, focusing on recovering funds from delinquent customer accounts across multiple business lines. Your goal will be to ensure effective execution through meticulous documentation, consistent follow-ups, and strict adherence to collections policies. Your success will be measured by your ability to maximize recoveries while maintaining operational integrity and stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities
  • Support Collections and Granting teams by assessing recovery account collectability and reporting on success rates
  • Contact customers to arrange payments, offering alternatives to consumer proposals and bankruptcies when appropriate
  • Assign non-recoverable accounts to collection agencies or Small Claims Court following established processes
  • Coordinate workflows and exception requests for the Recovery Manager, escalating concerns as needed
  • Monitor recovery portfolios to ensure repayment arrangements are followed and align with company policies
  • Manage abandoned credits, including timely fund returns and U.S. account filings
  • Reconcile recovery portfolios monthly to confirm accuracy of outstanding balances and third-party fees
  • Recommend approaches for handling large bad debt accounts and suspected fraud investigations
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of credit recovery policies and represent the company in Small Claims actions
Qualifications
  • Ability to work independently with discretion to complete own analysis of problematic account issues
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessments to resolve strategic issues
  • Ability to integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes
  • Excellent written/oral communication skills with an ability to speak with Senior Leadership / assist OTC Management with bad debt reporting and be able to review and communicate decisions on bad debt with a rationale that can be understood and explained to external audiences
  • Post-secondary degree/certificate in Business Administration
  • Minimum 3-5 years collection experience
