Job description

Coordinates all operations relating to aircraft loading/unloading activities while providing leadership to cargo handlers and operational support. You may also perform duties of a courier, cargo handler, or dispatcher, modeling role-model behavior through strong communication and leadership.

About the role: Ramp Agent

In this position, you will coordinate all activities related to aircraft loading and unloading, supervise cargo handlers, and provide operational and personnel support. You will also ensure compliance with FedEx procedures by preparing and processing Canadian customs paperwork and maintaining GSE and W&B certifications.

You will work Tuesday to Saturday, 03:45–10:30, and must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment. Your understanding of FedEx products, features of service, and loading/unloading procedures will be essential to success in this role.

Requirements / Skills
  • High school diploma or educational equivalent
  • Six months experience/training in jet aircraft ground support equipment (GSE) or aircraft operations
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of FAMIS, COSMOS, e-mail, and FedEx intranet systems (preferred)
  • Ability to prepare and process Canadian customs paperwork
  • Completion of basic training and maintenance of accreditation (GSE administrator/operator permit, DG Specialist, W&B certification)
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver packages up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Excellent human relations, customer relations, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask, handle stress, and work in a highly pressured environment
  • Willingness to be flexible with schedules and holidays
  • RCMP assessment clearance required
